Our Spring Gala is only one month away!
Every year holds something new and different for guests and this year is no exception. Not only are we hosting the event in a new location – the Marriott St. Louis West – but guests will enjoy a one-of-a-kind show by The Great DuBois – Masters of Variety!
The show is described as an old-school, fast-paced, high-skill performance of circus-style arts that will have the audience laughing, gasping, and rigorously applauding.
Thom Wall – world-class juggler with Cirque du Soleil and son of Dignity Period Founders Helen and Lewis Wall – introduced Michael DuBois to Dignity Period. Michael fell in love with circus arts when he was young, after his grandparents took him to see the Ringling Bros, and he’s been honing his skills ever since. His partner Viktoria is a 5th generation circus performer!
The Great DuBois is excited to perform for Dignity Period’s audience. “Our approach is in-line with the way Dignity Period works in Ethiopia. We respect what we do, we never take shortcuts, and we perform with class and confidence.”
Michael continues, “We’re incredibly excited to perform for a group of people who care enough to support a solution to challenges facing girls in a far-off country. Giving women a proper foundation for confidence and learning is so important.”
In addition to Michael and Viktoria’s performance, the evening will include a cocktail reception and full dinner, opportunities to buy or bid on goods made in Ethiopia along with a variety of other auction items, and an interesting program to learn more about Dignity Period’s recent expansion into the Afar region. Afar is very different than other parts of Ethiopia, so we excited to show stunning photos and describe the lives of the women and girls we support.
